The Hatsumago Honkarakuchi Makiri is a Junmai offered by the Tohoku Meijo. It is of the Yamagata Prefecture. The sake is brewed from the Miyamanishiki sake rice and has an alcohol content of 15.5%. It is brewed with the traditional Kimotozukuri brewing technique.
The drink has a nice fruity nose and a rich flavor. It is smooth and full bodied. It is dry and has a sharp and clean finish which is an interesting contrast to its mellow flavor. The Hatsumago Honkarakuchi Makiri tastes great at different temperatures including warm, room temperature and chilled. It tastes great with recipes that use soy as a key ingredient and also pairs well with BBQ.
